Aluminum

Aluminum is a bedside table designed to make storage simple and easy to reach. The table is fitted with a drawer and a recessed niche, so items can be put away and found even in the dark. An integrated light source in the top compartment is operated by touching the table top, and its inset position lights the surrounding space. The body is cut from aluminum with a water jet and bent on a press brake. The surface is sandblasted and anodized, and the sliders are 3D printed. The table measures 340 by 360 by 500 mm.

Veizla Office

The Veizla Office desk is designed to fit in with the growing need for height adjustable compact home office desks. Most of what is available in the market place are simple metal H-frames, which are functional but not very attractive as a piece of home furniture. The Veizla desk, has built-in electronic controlled actuators, has two desktop drawers and cable management which can be accessed from the top and also from below. The desk is made from sustainable solid wood, with steel parts for strength and stability.

Especie is a revolving armchair designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The armchair is made from solid wood reclaimed from demolition, which is sanded and varnished. The swivel base is made of steel. The seat is made of medium density polyurethane and covered with nautical fabric. The base is fixed while the seat rotates. The backrest is inclined to offer comfort and support to the user. An upholstered bench can be supplied as a footrest. The form follows the solid wood volumes and defined lines of Brazilian furniture of the 1970s.

Existence

Existence is a chair designed for thinking. The chair is treated as a piece of architecture that defines an edge and leaves space for the mind to fill. Two prototypes have been made of stainless steel. Sitting on Existence requires attention and muscle effort, so the chair limits physical comfort in order to set the mind free. Each chair measures 1000 mm in width, 800 mm in depth and 600 mm in height. The prototypes were shaped by hand, and different techniques were adjusted to reach exact accuracy.

Pan is a coat hanger made up of three steel elements connected by a central joint. Each component is obtained by reusing the waste steel sheet coming from industrial laser cutting processes. Each component is sized with the aim of reusing as much material as possible. Pan is a multifaceted object, the two dimensional sheet takes on a new three dimensional aesthetic, a multifaceted volume with a sculptural value. Each pan is unique because its design depends on how the elements are randomly arranged on the slab during the ongoing production process.

Mods wall clock is made of natural wood and bent MDF with paint printing. The clock hands are also wooden. The serifs on the dial are metals. Shade is a partition shelf based on the shoji, a Japanese sliding door made of wooden frames and thin Japanese paper. The frame and side panels are made of cedar wood, and the thin paper, known as washi, is pasted onto the wooden frames. The shadows of objects behind the shelf can be seen through the washi. The appearance can be altered by using different types of washi, by leaving some frames uncovered, or by moving the frames. Wooden dowels join the parts, and a special mold allows the washi to be replaced without distortion.

Waves is a modular closet designed for bedroom storage. The unit is made of seven independent lacquered wood cabinets that can be arranged together. Waves measures 1800 mm in width, 750 mm in depth and 1800 mm in height. Adjustable shelves hold cosmetics and small garments, large drawers hold clothes and accessories, and a shirt hanger slides out from the side. A push to open system keeps the outer surfaces clean and free of handles. The form is inspired by a wave about to disappear on the shore. A single tone of matte blue is hand-painted inside and out.
